The Plow That Broke the Plains (1936)

The Plow That Broke the Plains (1936)

Directed by: Pare Lorentz

Starring: Thomas Chalmers, Bam White

To finish up this Old Documentary movie challenge, here’s a short film about the dustbowl! Whoopie?

It’s basically just a quick overview of how poorly-controlled farming led to land that was hard to farm, and what they called “the Dust Bowl”. You know, the thing that Steinbeck wrote about. Yeah, that thing.

This film is as dry as its subject matter. BAM! THANK YOU! I’ve been keeping that one ready since yesterday. That’s all I have to say about it, though.
