Directed by: Jared Cohn

Starring: Sara Malakul Lane, Jesus Guevara, Steve Hanks

one-star

This movie is kinda weird because it was made by the Asylum, and yet it doesn’t seem to be a ripoff of any big-budget movie in theaters. Since when do they make just general shitty movies without relying on grandmas accidentally picking up the wrong thing at Blockbuster?

A baby is born on December 12th, 2012, and thanks to a Satanic ritual is born as an evil little devil baby. The mom keeps having weird, traditional horror movie stuff happen to her, but she doesn’t want to admit that her freakish little plastic baby has evil eyes and big honkin’ horns and goes around killing people. Parenthood is so hard.

The little plastic baby puppet is pretty funny. I guess it’s supposed to be scary, but as far as a hilarious mock-up of what a bad movie might try to pass off as a scary evil baby, it’s pretty great. I guess the thing I don’t get about this movie is why the date 12/12/12 is supposed to be associated with evil or scariness? Now, next year when they do 13/13/13, that’ll be a different story!
