Almost there… Just one more Godzilla movie to do after this one… I really should’ve been prepared for how much watching 30 movies primarily about guys in rubber suits screaming at each other would hurt.
In the last movie, Godzilla against Mechagodzilla, the military made Mechagodzilla by putting a bunch of robotic crap all over the skeleton of the original (and dead) Godzilla. Now the two little Mothra girls tell them that they have to return Godzilla’s bones to the sea, or Mothra will destroy the world. Pfft. Okay, yeah, I’m real scared of MOTHRA. They don’t want to get rid of Mechagodzilla because he’s their only weapon against the real Godzilla, who just happens to also be attacking. What will they do?!
Well, they beat Godzilla and drive Mechagodzilla into the sea. What did you think would happen? It seems like the most obvious option to me, anyway.
