Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001)

Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001)

Directed by: Shusuke Kaneko

Starring: Chiharu Niiyama, Ryûdô Uzaki, Masahiro Kobayashi

Aww, poor Barugon is the only one who doesn’t get his name in the title. Even though he’s the only monster who’s fought both Godzilla AND Gamera… and also he fought a giant Frankenstein’s monster in Frankenstein Conquers the World. Okay, I wouldn’t put him in the title either.

Godzilla is attacking again, and an ancient prophecy says that there are three magic guardians who will be able to defeat him: Barugon, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. I’m sure Barugon and Mothra are a BIG help in that fight.

This movie is remarkable because it boasts the absolute worst special effects out of the entire Godzilla series. Seriously, how the hell did they manage to make the 25th or whatever Godzilla movie be the worst looking one? It looks like they had a hundred bucks to make all the monsters and to buy the computer to do all the CGI (which has been getting more and more prevalent as time marches on, and it just looks like ass). And if a Godzilla movie doesn’t even have half-decent special effects, then what the hell is even the point?
