Man, watching movies without knowing anything about them is the absolute best. I assume if you’re reading a movie review site you don’t completely agree, but still. If I had known that this movie was about a girl who gets her arm bit off by a shark, I wouldn’t have laughed so hard when it happened OUT OF NOWHERE.
A teen girl loves surfing and it’s her whole life. Everything is happy and saccharin and wonderful AND THEN A SHARK JUST POPS OUT OF THE WATER AND BITES HER ARM OFF!!! Obviously, this ruins her life, and she goes on a spiritual journey to figure out why this was in god’s plan for her and what she’s going to do if she can never surf again. She decides to start teaching kids how to surf instead… and also she does surf again and almost wins some competition so I guess it doesn’t matter anyway.
This movie’s cast has a who’s who of old actors that I was sure were done being in movies. Helen Hunt is in this! Did you know she still did movies? I sure as hell didn’t. Also, old Kevin Sorbo and way old Craig T. Nelson have small roles in the film, proving that they can still get lunches in exchange for acting.
