Terror Train (1980)

Terror Train (1980)

Directed by: Roger Spottiswoode

Starring: Ben Johnson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Hart Bochner

So, Jamie Lee Curtis is in a movie where all her friends are killed by a masked killer who has a previous connection with her? I wonder how she got that role…

Terror Train is about a group of college seniors going on one last trip on a train, where they have a huge party (there’s a magician and everything!). As often happens in these sorts of movies, people start dying one by one on the train, which is obviously from the very beginning this kid that the rest of the seniors pranked back when they were freshmen.

It’s actually not all that bad of a horror film. It’s really generic, so I didn’t give it more than two stars, but it’s a pretty competent movie. You know from the beginning who the killer is, so the reveal at the end is really kind of pointless, but the way the guy is finally defeated is actually a really interesting twist. Overall, not a bad movie, I wouldn’t turn it off if it was on some Halloween marathon on AMC or something.
