I usually don’t like watching sequels before I’ve seen the first in the series, but in the case of a CGI movie called SPACE CHIMPS, I don’t think I’m really missing out on any particular context that would be necessary otherwise.

So there’s some monkeys who went into space before, and they found a planet through a wormhole full of crazy aliens. In this film, one of those monkeys goes back to the planet and brings a friend back to Earth, where they have to defeat the (apparent) bad guy from the first movie, who now has a disintegrating ray gun thing.

There’s… nothing good about this movie. It’s boring, predictable, and painfully unfunny, and it’s about CGI monkeys vaguely fighting aliens. Patrick Warburton should be damn embarrassed that he was in this thing, even if it was only barely. Oh, but it’s in 3D!! Never mind, that changes everything! When I think about it, it’s actually really cool. Just… SO great. I love this movie. 3D! Can you believe it?!
