The Pumpkin Karver (2006)

The Pumpkin Karver (2006)

Directed by: Robert Mann

Starring: Amy Weber, Michael Zera, Minka Kelly

Okay, before you ask, I have no idea why the title spells “Carver” with a “K”, and no, I don’t know what the deal is with the guy in goofy makeup on the video cover there. I’m not privy to the thoughts of stupid horror movie makers.

After a kid accidentally kills his older sister’s boyfriend (who was playing a prank on her by dressing up like a serial killer and attacking her with a knife…), they move to a new town. Not that it helps much, since the kid is still messed up and keeps having visions of the guy he killed coming back to mess with him. As it turns out, there’s some (poorly explained) soul transference thing that happened with the dead guy, and now he’s back and bent on revenge! This revenge, for some reason, takes the form of the guy stabbing the crap out of a bunch of drunk, annoying teenagers that are vaguely geographically close to the kid that killed him.

One of the funnier things about this movie was during the credits, actually. After the twist ending where (blah blah, spoiler alert, not that you care because you’re never going to watch this stupid movie) the kid kills the guy again, but this time he takes over the kid’s body, during the credits the bad guy pops up and says something along the lines of, “Where do you think you’re going? Back to your cars and home? You think you’re safe?!” Something like that. Basically, the funny part is that he implies that the viewer was in a theater. I find that to be pretty hilarious.
