The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave (1971)

The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave (1971)

Directed by: Emilio Miraglia

Starring: Anthony Steffen, Marina Malfatti, Erika Blanc

Another day, another slew of Italian horror movies. Heh. Get it? “Slew”? Because like, they slay people sometimes in them, and the past tense of slay is slew, but that also means a lot? Yeah, I’m pretty funny.

A wealthy socialite can’t get over the death of his ex-wife, so he keeps bringing hookers and other girls to his castle to torture and kill them. That’s… normal. Finally he kills a girl who kinda looked like his dead wife, and this helps him with his homicidal tendencies. The next day he meets a nice girl and they get immediately married. She spends the rest of the movie being haunted by the ghost of the dead ex, which helps her learn that she’s now married to a psycho killer.

Honestly, there’s not much that’s very remarkable about this movie. Well, except for the guy’s coping method of killing prostitutes, but let’s be honest, that’s not all that unusual in these types of movies, either. The poster made me laugh, though.
