Long Hair of Death (1964)

Long Hair of Death (1964)

Directed by: Antonio Margheriti

Starring: Barbara Steele, George Ardisson, Halina Zalewska

Those damn hippies and their long hair of death, why I’m tellin’ ya… They oughta… they should’ve made a… um… better intro to this. It’s all THEIR fault!

After a woman is falsely accused of regicide and being a witch and subsequently burned at the stake, her last words, a terrible curse, are inflicted upon the town. Years later the sister of the burned witch returns to punish those truly guilty of the crime. The crime… of regicide. I love that word. It means the killing of royalty, by the way. Now you have a new word you can use the next time a king is murdered!

While this movie was generally pretty slow and boring, the ending was actually really well done. It’s a perfect revenge and it’s nice how everything is finally spelled out in the end. It’s just too bad that the journey to get there was so full of nothing.
