Ugh, the third MST3K in a row… without what would make anybody want to actually watch this crap. On the other hand, otherwise I wouldn’t have seen this poster, which is so reminiscent of Monty Python there HAS to be some correlation. Maybe Terry Gilliam had a job drawing B-movie posters?

You might guess that the big deal behind this movie is a giant gila monster that attacks people and cars and trains or something like that. Sure enough, that does happen… but it really takes a sideline to the REAL story of this movie: that Don Sullivan is a dreamy teen singer! I have never heard so many completely inappropriate songs in the middle of a monster movie before. I’d love to expound more on the film, but that’s really all there is to it.

As a viewer, you just can’t get into this movie. The main character can do no wrong whatsoever, and goes out of his way to be an obnoxiously always right good samaritan… and also there’s a monster which is obviously just a pet store lizard stuck in a model train set. Even the sherriff of the little town goes to our singing repairman for every single problem he has throughout the movie. Maybe that shit worked back in the 50’s, but I can’t imagine a character like that even EXISTING in a movie nowadays. The Pope wouldn’t be presented as infallibly as this clown! Argh, I can’t think about this anymore.
