Directed by: Michael Lembeck

Starring: Tim Allen, Elizabeth Mitchell, Martin Short

one-star

Yeah, I knew what I was in for when I started watching this movie: A terrible, terrible kid’s film that has hopefully killed this terrible series of kid’s films.

Santa (Allen) has a lot of pressure on him nowadays, and the council of holiday mascots plus a couple other mythical characters to round it out decides to give him Jack Frost (Short) to help him out. Jack Frost concocts a ridiculous scheme to take over the title of Santa, and even though he succeeds, Tim Allen learns the true meaning of Christmas and gets everything back to normal. Happy ending, yay.

This is a strange type of Christmas story. I mean, sure, it’s about someone learning the ‘true meaning of Christmas’ and it changes them, blah blah, but not only is it SANTA who’s learning it this time, I’m pretty sure this character has done the exact same thing twice already. So… I guess the point of this movie is that Tim Allen is a pretty crappy Santa. Can’t argue with you there, movie.
