One nice thing about watching random movies without having any idea what they’re going to be about beforehand is that sometimes you get surprised by something good. Such is the case with Charade, though, to be honest, the movie didn’t really seem to want you to know what it was about for the first half of it anyway, so it might’ve actually been to my benefit.

Audrey Hepburn plays a widow who finds herself in an unexpected intrigue after her husband dies and friends of his she never knew about try to kill her, thinking that she has a massive amount of money they think they deserve. Lucky for her (?) Cary Grant is there to help her (?) with… well, I really can’t say anything about Cary Grant, because his character had more twists and turns than a riverside street designed by M. Night Shamalan.

Anyway, plot regardless, it was a nice mystery, combined with a healthy dose of Hepburn demonstrating that she’s just so damn cute she can have amazing chemistry with a piece of toast. I would watch that movie, Audrey Hepburn Eats Toast for Seventy Minutes (1965). Sign me up.

Anyway, yeah, Charade. Pretty good film. Look it up if you’re in the mood for a crime comedy/drama sorta thing.
