Bugs Bunny’s 3rd Movie: 1001 Rabbit Tales (1982)

Directed by: Friz Freleng, Chuck Jones, Robert McKimson

Starring: Mel Blanc, Arthur Q. Bryan, June Foray

FINALLY! A good movie on Cartoon Network. Sure, it’s just a flimsy premise to string together a bunch of Looney Tunes shorts, but that’s still significantly better than the best Scooby-Doo movie… times ten.

1001 Rabbit Tales starts with Bugs and Daffy off to sell books, and eventually ends up with Bugs having to read stories for Yosemite Sam’s son. These stories are just looney tunes shorts, most of which featuring Sylvester, strangely enough. I’m not really sure how many of these were made originally for the movie and how many were recycled shorts, but the Michigan J. Frog bit is in there, and I definitely recognized that, haha.

This is barely a movie by any stretch of the imagination, but if this were in theaters, I’d go see it. It might even make me forget that things like Space Jam exist…
