This is the first sequel to the Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and I assume they’re going to be making an American version of it at some point. Which, if it’s as much worse as the American version was of the first film, should be really really awful.
Lisbeth, badass girl hacker extraordinaire, is framed for a murder and must go on the run from the law to find out who set her up. She gets the help of the journalist from the first movie and eventually they figure it out, after lots of running and punching and shooting.
Almost everything I liked about the first movie is absent from this one. The pacing is incredibly slow and the mystery plot at the center of the film just isn’t as interesting as The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. They do get a little more into the backstory of the main character, which is cool. I dunno, it just felt like… a sequel. Hm. Weird.
