I recently watched through all of Twin Peaks, then ended it off with this movie they released after the series was cancelled. I expected it to wrap up some of the loose ends of the show, but instead it was basically a prequel, and had nothing at all to do with the shitty plot the show ended with. Which is… kinda good? I think? I have no idea.
Fire Walk With Me is about the circumstances that led to a high school girl named Laura Palmer getting murdered in a small, out-of-the-way town called Twin Peaks.
I can’t really get more into it than that, because any other details would ruin the actually good arc of Twin Peaks. Which is what confuses me about this movie, what was the point of it? If you’ve seen the show, you already know everything that’s going on because that was the whole mystery of the first season and a half, and if you haven’t then there’s really no point in watching the show because it ruins the fun of discovering the clues and digging up the dirt of the town. Far be it from me to suggest that David Lynch would make a movie without a point…
