What is it about Night of the Living Dead that makes film students want to do stupid projects with it? Oh yeah, it’s famous and in the public domain, that’s what. At least this was better than that Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride etc etc movie. Actually, if you put them both together, you might manage to get something good out of it! Namely, Night of the Living Dead.
Some guys thought it would be a good idea to replace the video from Night of the Living Dead with a bunch of random art and animation from a million different people and keep it synched up to the original audio track.
The problem with this is that, with that many different artists, not all of them are going to be good. I’m not going to be extremely negative and say that NONE of them are good, but I have no problems with saying that none of them are as good as the original video track. In fact, some of the movie is just the original video, but with a photoshop filter applied over it. Seriously. It would’ve been a much more pleasant thing to just look at a series of art inspired by the film on a website or something like that instead of sitting through an hour and a half of drawings slowly moved across the screen. That way you wouldn’t have to worry about filling in every part of the movie, and also I could skip the stuff that was clearly done with Half-Life 2 models, that was awful.
