What’s the one thing people always remember from Poltergeist? That’s right, that Craig T. Nelson from TV’s “Coach” is the best dad in the world in it! Oh, and I guess the little girl saying “They’re heee-eeere” rates up there a little bit too, whatever, it’s mostly the Craig T. Nelson Dad Show! Yayy!
Craig T. Nelson and his family are normal suburbanites until the day that the ghosts who haunt their house steal their daughter into a portal in the closet. It’s okay though, because they can still hear her plaintive cries for help through the static on their TV (static is a thing TVs used to have on them, for those of you under the age of 21). So, of course, they call a psychic lady to help save their kid and de-haunt the house or whatever.
Wowee, Craig T. Nelson is a great dad in this movie!! He’s– okay, I’m done. This is a classic horror film and you get a couple lasting moments out of it, but in general it’s just a haunted house movie plus an episode of the Twilight Zone. Also, I’m bitter because I blame the ghost hunter people in this movie for helping to inspire the “real” ghost hunters that’re all over tv nowadays. You dang kids and your hula hoops and your scrunchies and your dubstep why I oughtta…
