Directed by: Dennis Dugan
Starring: Adam Sandler, Katie Holmes, Al Pacino
Ah, the infamous Jack and Jill. It was pretty heartening to see that audiences all over were unhappy with the latest Adam Sandler film, even though I wouldn’t say it’s the worst he’s ever done (that would be Click). Any reason for people to throw less money at Adam Sandler is fine with me, though.
Jack is a director of advertisements and Dunkin’ Donuts has told him to either get Al Pacino for a commercial or they’re taking their business elsewhere. Even worse, his twin sister Jill is coming into town for the holidays, and he doesn’t like her very much!!! Wackiness ensues as Pacino falls in love with Jill and Jack tries to use this relationship to con him into doing a terrible commercial.
Speaking of terrible commercials, that’s basically what this entire movie is. This thing is just chock full of all the meaty product placement you could ever imagine. Apart from that, the only remarkable part of this movie is that they barely even try to tie together all the comic bits together, sometimes skipping huge periods of time which the characters should’ve cared about but don’t because they’re too busy farting on each other’s boobs or whatever idiot bullshit they’re up to.
