Helvetica (2007)

Helvetica (2007)

Directed by: Gary Hustwit

Starring: Manfred Schulz, Massimo Vignelli, Rick Poynor

This is… an extremely dry documentary about fonts. I guess if you think that could be an interesting topic to talk about, then this is the movie for you. I did think that, and I really liked the first half or so where they were talking about the specifics involved in constructing a font, but then they started arguing about which were the best fonts and who gives a shit.

Welp, I pretty much already summarized the entire movie up there in that there first paragraph, and there’s not a whole hell of a lot left to tell. Uh… the point of the film was that Helvetica is the most-used font and some people like it and other people don’t.

Yep. Fonts.
