Werewolves on Wheels (1971)

Werewolves on Wheels (1971)

Directed by: Michel Levesque

Starring: Steve Oliver, Donna Anders, Gene Shane

I may have had some unfair expectations for this movie. From the name, I was expecting a companion piece to I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle, which is a classic as far as I’m concerned, and there’s a line that was sampled in a Rob Zombie song only a few minutes into it. And hell, just look at that poster! All these things just make an already boring and lame movie far more disappointing, and that’s really a shame. They needed Anthony Daniels.

A motorcycle gang a la Easy Rider comes across a Satanic cult of monks and… hangs out with them for a while. The friendship goes awry once the monks try to make one of the biker’s old lady into a bride of Satan. Which is how my parties usually end as well. With bikers beating the shit out of Satanic monks. Anyway, they keep on keepin’ on and notice that strange events seem to be following them. It isn’t until the end of the film that they realize they’re all werewolves thanks to this lady.

Seriously, no werewolves until the last five minutes or so. What a ripoff. I’ve never felt so cheated by a title since… I dunno, basically every movie I watch just because it has a funny name and it ends up being boring or unremarkable.
