To wrap up the “lone gunmen” challenge, here’s Taken, a film about how Liam Neeson can kill each and every person in the world without any problems ever. Seriously, at least you worry about James Bond once in each movie (each of the GOOD ones, anyway).
Neeson’s teenage daughter wants to visit France, despite his paranoia about her being kidnapped and sold into white slavery. Twenty minutes after she arrives in Paris, she gets kidnapped and sold into white slavery, but Neeson is a retired supercop megaspy, and he’s only got 96 hours to find her before he’ll never be able to find her again! I think most of that time is taken up by the plane flight to France.
This is just a bland action movie with a ridiculously overpowered protagonist. Also, the plot is pretty ridiculous itself, but when you have the perfect main character, you have to make every crazy thing he says come true.
So what did I learn with my challenge? Well, if you’re a cop, ex-cop, or future cop and you decide to go on a killing rampage, then you’ll be a hero! Otherwise, you’ll die. Huh.
