I’ll be perfectly honest with you, I don’t really want to review this movie. I’m already doing a bigger review for it for a different project, and I don’t want to have to think about this shit any more than I really have to. Also, I was talking about it to somebody the other day and they said that it “wasn’t that bad,” and that kinda made me want to shoot myself.
Adam Sandler is a douchebag who gets a magic remote control from the angel of death (Walken) that can do vaguely remotish things to his life. He basically only ever uses the fast-forward button, however, and accidentally ends up skipping through his entire life. At the end it all turns out to be a dream and now he realizes he’s a douchebag and there’s still time to get Tiny Tim a turkey for Christmas.
This movie has everything wrong with it. It’s got some really lazy time travel (which means it has to come up with several mechanics that don’t really work well or make sense), it’s all a dream in the end, Christopher Walken turns out to be Death for NO REASON… And worse than that, it can’t decide whether it wants to be a shitty comedy with pointless drama in it, or a drama that doesn’t get dramatic for the first hour and which destroys it’s own tension with jokes about dogs humping stuffed animals. Miss it, for your own good.
