Directed by: Nicholas Stoller
Starring: Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis
I remember wanting to see this movie because it had that whole Judd Apatow team working on it, but now that I finally have… I’m glad I didn’t while I was still really into that stuff, haha.
Jason Segel plays a TV composer who gets dumped by his girlfriend of five years, Kristen Bell, who is the star of the show he does music for. He takes a vacation to Hawaii to try and get over the breakup, but it turns out that she’s there with Russell Brand, her new musician boyfriend. Segel falls for Mila Kunis, the receptionist at the hotel they’re all staying at, and wacky hijinks ensue.
So, I’ve never seen either of them in anything before, but it turns out that I don’t think either Jason Segel OR Russell Brand are funny. At all. Or maybe it was just this movie, I dunno. I mean, it’s tough to feel bad for a rich guy who’s sad because all these other girls he’s having sex with just aren’t good enough for him. How terrible for all you rich, pretty people! Please never have to stoop so low as to act like a normal person! That’d just be awful!
