This is an interesting little Danish cartoon. As I was watching it, I kept thinking that the character design and the backgrounds looked really unique, and I had to keep reminding myself that they really didn’t, not at all. I don’t know what it was about this movie, it just looked… interesting.
In the far future, what’s left of humanity lives underground, after their ancestors destroyed the surface with bombs and missiles ages ago. This story is about two children who decide to journey back to the surface and back to “paradise”. They have to deal with obstacles and the evil rat people that rule over the humans, but it all works out in the end.
It’s just a neat little movie. It’s not spectacularly inventive or unique-looking, and it’s barely longer than an hour, but it’s a pretty good kid’s sci-fi story.
