Was this a Lifetime channel movie? Or like… a Lifetime channel movie in some sort of weird alternate universe where men are all perfect and it’s your own damn fault for trying to be an independent woman?
A businesswoman in NEW YORK CITY has to go back to her hometown in much better rural Texas to settle custody of her daughter with her husband she hasn’t seen in 7 years, yet never divorced for no reason whatsoever. She’s reminded that the best things in life are riding horses and going to church and being a proper, 1920’s style wife, none of this WORK nonsense.
It really does have the feel of a Lifetime original movie, except for all the oppressing women stuff. Still, the thing that’s most out of place in this whole dumb movie is Fred Willard as the main character’s boss in New York. This is out of place because, even in a really retarded role in a stupid-ass movie, Fred Willard is still really fucking funny. It just seems like he didn’t even bother to read the script and just showed up and started telling jokes. And kudos to him for it.
