So the other day, my friend gave me a “challenge” to download and watch the top five movies on a torrent site with the word “love” in the title that I hadn’t seen before. Yes, it was painful, but “challenge”? Heh. I think not. Heh. Heh.
Julia Roberts has a bad relationship, so she decides to spend a year abroad to “find herself” or some shit like that. First she goes to Italy and eats a lot of food, then she goes to India to join a cult, and finally ends up in Bali working as a secretary for Yoda while she inexplicably falls in love with the very unlikable Javier Bardem.
I think this movie represents the sort of thing that white people actually think will happen to them if they go to another country and bum around for a while. You’ll fall in love, become enlightened, make instant and life-long friends wherever you go, and when you get back, your life will have completely changed for the better. But hey, maybe I’m just bitter and realistic.
