Directed by: Michael A. DeGaetano

Starring: Nick Plakias, Cynthia Cline, LaVerne Light

one-star

At about this point, I had to take a break from Nightmare on Elm Street movies, instead taking the time to watch… a couple crappy movies. Not a very well-planned break, really.

The first part of UFO: Target Earth is set up kinda like a documentary, where a guy is interviewing a bunch of hicks about their alien encounter stories. This is forgotten about after the opening credits, though, and we instead just follow some random guy and his omnipresent grandma as they try to talk to some aliens. In a really long and retarded twist at the end, it turns out that the guy may or may not have been an alien, but he definitely gets turned into a being of pure mental energy by the aliens. Also, the transformation sequences is in no way just a shitty rip-off of the end of 2001. Not at all.

What made this movie bad more than any plot element or creative deficiency was the fact that the movie was so damn dark you couldn’t see anything half the time. That, and the stupid story and the creative deficiency…
